I keep meaning to read Tiffany Aching! (Terry Pratchett's daughter is a game developer, incidentally.)
Hearing that you bounced off of most Discworld the way I did but liked Tiffany Aching... really helped. (Can maybe unpack why. My main thing about Discworld is that it's very clever but I don't find the novels that enjoyable to read vs. Death/Granny Weatherwax/etc witticisms out of context. But also don't get British humor in general.)
When it comes to witchy tales I like... hm. This is a bit broad but did you ever read the Lyra books by Patricia C. Wrede? I guess Daughter of Witches is the most straightforwardly witchy but they get better the more experience she has as a writer. If sorceresses count, the Tarma and Kethry short stories/books by Mercedes Lackey. Will have to think.
