Represent Fest

Last Thursday, May 1, marked the beginning of Represent Fest on Tumblr. Started by Werewolfau, Represent Fest is a month-long celebration of our favorite characters of color.

I am participating by taking ficlet requests. Below the cut, I’m going to list the characters whom I’m interested in writing about for this particular event (if a character from a particular thing is excluded, it doesn’t necessarily mean that I don’t think that they’re awesome!). Here’s how to play:

1. choose two of those characters

2. leave a comment with their names. If you don't have an LJ account, please leave your name or a pseudonym of your choice so I know whom to dedicate the story to!

3. include a line of dialogue/quote/song lyric/prompt if you wish, and

4. I will write a fic in which those characters interact.

Have fun! Represent Fest will be continuing throughout May, so if you're on Tumblr, please follow the "repfest" blog or tag if you’re interested in participating further!

So many good characters! I'm gonna give you a few sets, and you can do all or none of them as you like.

Miranda Callendar & Nidhi Shah

Zoe Washburne & Sheila Bennett

Nick Fury & Anna (this one is kind of cracky, I know, but somehow seems to me like it could be amazing)

I also can't pick just two characters. I'll give you three pairs to choose from. The last one I'll include a note about--

Martha Jones & Derrial Book, "Was blind, but now I see."

Elisa Maza & Nidhi Shah, "The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper."

Zoe Washburne & Armando Munoz (Darwin)*, "Light as a feather."

*Note: I like to think that rather than dying in XM:FC Darwin evolved to an energy being, and he isn't seen again in the movie after Shaw triggers that evolution because he's busy figuring out how being an energy being works himself. If that sounds interesting to you feel free to make use of it.

Pavarti Patil/Cho Chang - "after the war"

Nick Fury/Elisa Maza - "old friends and older favors"

I went with the first prompt. Hope you enjoy! (http://nevacaruso.livejournal.com/423178.html)

Oh, I cannot not do this . . .

Knives Chau & Himemiya Anthy.

(I don't have a quote or prompt, but I was thinking about their relationship to boys, and how they individually kick ass.)

Hope you like it! (http://nevacaruso.livejournal.com/423585.html)
