Here are some things that I did at Arisia on Saturday:
~ I bought some new hair trinkets! They are sparkly and lacy and purple.
~ I bought quite a few new buttons, and custom-ordered another. I'll take a picture when it arrives.
~ I admired other people's amazing costumes, including a Delirium with fish-shaped balloons, two Malcolm Reynolds chatting in the Con Suite, and the usual assortment of epic hats, gowns, corsets, gloves, and jewelry.
~ I tried on a Doctor Who-themed corset and several hats.
~ I heard terrific music by Sassafrass, Stranger Ways (the concept albums both sound fantastic, and I am still giggling over the Loki and Odin bit in "I'm Judging You," which was truly inspired), and Emerald Rose.
~ Most importantly, I got to introduce one of my oldest friends (we met at Buck's Rock in 2002) to Arisia, to my housemates, and to some of the awesome people I've met in the local geek community. I'd turned him on to Sassafrass last year, and I am so delighted that he came such a long distance to see them perform and to share what has become one of my very favorite Boston events.
If I got to hug you on Saturday, hooray! If not, I am sorry that I missed you!
